Introduction to space technology and science

What is spacecraft? How does it function? Learn the basics of orbital mechanics. Understand the engineering logic behind rockets and satellites.

Mr. Gantchev will present the content using as example selected European space projects and will give a brief overview of European Space Agency’ current activities in Space.

The presentation will be interactive and organized as an open talk.

 

About the lecturer

Stanimir Gantchev is one of the founders of EnduroSat – the first and only Bulgarian company designing and engineering satellite systems. He is National Point of Contact and Representative of Bulgaria in Space Generation Advisory Council in support of the United Nations Programme on Space Applications as well as Logistics coordinator of Space Challenges Program – the biggest free educational program for space science, technology and exploration.

About “Space For Bulgaria” project:

Space4BG is developed by Association Tsiolkovsky in cooperation with European Space Agency. It aims to increase the awareness about space technologies and applications of European Space Agency (ESA) as well as to bring basic space science and technology knowledge to the region.

Stanimir Gantchev Logistics Coordinator – Space4BG

Stanimir Gantchev coordinates the logistical and multimedia part of Space4BG Project. He communicates with the lecturers and filming crews. At present Stanimir is also engaged as a mentor at Space Challenges Academy.
